Rose Wanderlust

(this is a birthday card from my friends, it says happy birthday in Slovene)

Since it's my last day of being a 17 year old dancing queen, I thought it would be appropriate to create a list of 18 lessons I've learned in 18 years.

  • It's more than okay to let go and worry less, you cannot control every situation and every person.
  • Don't forgive all the time. Some people don't deserve it.
  • Be nicer to people and tell them if something's actually bothering you.
  • Real friends do care about you and your feelings. Don't be afraid to tell them even if it makes you cry!
  • Stage fright is a bitch. It doesn't matter if you go to a drama school, it's normal to have it.
  • You are the only one who will be living in your body. Treat it well and don't let anyone disrespect it.
  • You will gain weight, but you will lose it as well. Beauty doesn't come in one size.
  • You're smarter than you think.
  • Don't think about what people think about you.
  • Do stupid things. Live in the moment.
  • It's okay if you go out with you friends, but it's also okay if you stay in your bed and binge watch tv shows.
  • Overthinking is not the solution.
  • Always say what you think.
  • Show how you feel. Don't fake a smile and hold in the tears.
  • Travel as much as possible and send your family a postcard.
  • Do something you're passionate about even if you think it'll make people laugh at you.
  • Be more compassionate.
  • Give compliments. Some might need them.

What lessons have you learned in your lifetime?

I always enjoyed taking pictures and playing the role of the photographer. But I never really posted them anywhere- besides on instagram, of course. As some of you might know I wish to study media/filmmaking/broadcast production,  I decided to experiment and do what I like before entering the uni.  My mom was so kind to buy me a really cool camera for my upcoming 18th birthday (27th of June!) and I can't wait to travel and take awesome shots and videos. You might see more videos on my youtube channel!
I do tend to post not-so-often, so if it's been a while since my last post, you might want to check my blog Vivid World. or my instagram.

I was tagged by the beautiful, one and only, my friend from overseas, Lauryn from Elegant Chances.
Since I've promised her to post more often a hundred of times, I decided to finally post again! Basically, when you get nominated, you answer 11 questions and then you tag new people to do the challenge (bloggers who have under 1000 followers on twitter). So here we go!

1.What is your favourite meal of the day and why?

Definitely breakfast.  I get up at 6am everyday during the week and I need to wake up! I've always loved breakfast, probably because it's the first meal in the day.

2. If you could sit down and have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would you choose and why?

Huh....difficult question. Either Kösem Sultan (the most powerful woman in Ottoman history),
Louis XIV of France, Shakespeare or James Dean. Weird combination, isn't it?

3. What is your favourite thing to blog about?

Traveling and art.

4. Where do you see yourself in seven years?

In seven years I'll be 25...that's when you're really, really an adult. I hope I'll be done with the university by then in Scotland and have a job. I guess I wish to be in a serious relationship by then? If If have a job, an appartement and enough money, I could see myself having a kid, too.

5. Using only three words, describe yourself.

Emotional, feminist, artistic.

6. What is one positive and negative thing about yourself? (Be honest!)

I'm very emotional, I tend to understand everything on a personal level. I overthink all the time and sometimes I cry over nothing, really. I don't get attached to other people fast, but if I do, I'm still pretty cautious because I think they'll hurt me. Sadly I lack empathy at times (which is weird!). So yeah, being emotional kinda sucks.

But being emotional can be good too! My friends tell me that I'm the person who always says the right thing when they're sad. I can make them smile or laugh within seconds.

7. If you could relive one day, which one would it be?

The day I got my dog, I think? It was shortly after my parents got divorced and I was emotionally broken at the time. I was 7 years old and I remember my aunt stepping into our appartement and handing me a big ball of white fur. I said: "What's that omg??" (I knew it was a dog, but I was just so excited!)

8. What is the story behind your blog name?

I liked Lilly Allen's song Fuck you. And I love Prada, the way that it's written and pronounced. Taa-daa!

9.) Do you have a significant other? If so, how did you meet?

I'm pretty happy with being single.

10. What are your 3 go to beauty products?

Mascara by Essence I love Extreme (my favourite mascara since the 7th grade), eyebrow pencil by Catrice and my Too Faced Chocolate bar eyeshadow palette.

11. What is your favorite hobby?

Once again, difficult question ahah!
I like watching historical tv shows & movies & reading historical books. I also like art - drawing, acting, dancing...you name it! I LOVE doing makeup and watching tutorials on youtube!

I tag all of my followers to do this! :)

I had been debating (in my head) for a long time if I should post this or not, but here it goes. After all, this is what I think and believe in and I can express my opinion without anyone's consent. Before you read this, I'm NOT saying you should do what I do. It clearly depends on what kind of a personality you have. If you're sarcastic, emotional and nice (preferably a Cancer)...you know how I feel.

First of all I'd like to say that I have never been a confident person. I always compared myself to others, seeking their approval. I would scream and yell at times, although I would usually back down. It's not all about confidence when you're fighting with people or just stating your beliefs. It's about not giving a damn and knowing when to ignore certain things. Something happened to me less than a month ago and that literally changed me. One single event. All I wish to tell you is that it had to do something with a 'friend'. Since then, I haven't been over-emotional and many things have happened which would usually upset me, but they didn't. Why? Because I learned how not to give a crap about irrelevant things and people. I'm confident enough to share 'my tips' with you guys...

1. If you have negative people in your life, REMOVE THEM. Try not to ignore them, simply push them into the background. If you're a "meaner" person, push them away as far as possible - they'll definitely notice. If you're a "nicer" person start pushing them away slowly, so they won't figure out it at first. Or you know, you can just say f-you, I don't need a Grinch in my life.

2. Channel your inner Nicki Minaj and Snoop Dog. As stupid as it sounds, that helped me a lot. You don't have to necessarily channel these two! When you're getting over-emotional, think about someone who is incredibly sassy and someone who is really, really calm. Try mixing those two together and what reaction they would have. For example: if someone's trying to pick a fight with me over a stupid thing, I'm speaking slowly and nicely, with a spark of sass (but don't insult).

3. You have to live with yourself 24/7. They don't. They can't read your mind or emotions. But you can! So learn how to make your feelings & mentality a priority.

4. Say what you think! Don't quiet down just because you think they'll disapprove of your opinion. It's good to be quiet at times, depending on the situation, though.

5. Don't compare yourself to others!!! We are all unique. I personally hate it when someone says to me "Be the better person. Stop fighting," uh, honey, no! You do you.
