(this is a birthday card from my friends, it says happy birthday in Slovene)
Since it's my last day of being a 17 year old dancing queen, I thought it would be appropriate to create a list of 18 lessons I've learned in 18 years.
- It's more than okay to let go and worry less, you cannot control every situation and every person.
- Don't forgive all the time. Some people don't deserve it.
- Be nicer to people and tell them if something's actually bothering you.
- Real friends do care about you and your feelings. Don't be afraid to tell them even if it makes you cry!
- Stage fright is a bitch. It doesn't matter if you go to a drama school, it's normal to have it.
- You are the only one who will be living in your body. Treat it well and don't let anyone disrespect it.
- You will gain weight, but you will lose it as well. Beauty doesn't come in one size.
- You're smarter than you think.
- Don't think about what people think about you.
- Do stupid things. Live in the moment.
- It's okay if you go out with you friends, but it's also okay if you stay in your bed and binge watch tv shows.
- Overthinking is not the solution.
- Always say what you think.
- Show how you feel. Don't fake a smile and hold in the tears.
- Travel as much as possible and send your family a postcard.
- Do something you're passionate about even if you think it'll make people laugh at you.
- Be more compassionate.
- Give compliments. Some might need them.
What lessons have you learned in your lifetime?
